Warrior's Den

Here is the warrior's den. You can add to stories here related to the Hiddenclan warriors.

Cats in this story:
Wolfstar
Runningheart
Blackbranch
Whitepath
Ghostpaw
Mistpaw
Airpaw
Rosepaw
Stormpaw

And Just to recap:

Rosepaw, Stormpaw, Mistpaw, and Ghostpaw were made apprentices.

Runningheart had a vision of her "brother" in a forest sleeping by a flower.

Whitepath doesn't see Airpaw as often.

Blackbranch is hitting it off with the ladies, and announced to Wolfstar that he likes her.

Badgers attacked the camp, nearly tearing off Rosepaw's arm.

Whitepath stormed out of the camp once Blackbranch yelled at him for not doing anything. Runningheart chased after him.

Whitepath was approached by Runningheart, and he attacked her, had a nervous breakdown, and attacked her again. Then, he jumped off of the cliff.

He and Runningheart are residing in the cave in the cliff.

Wolfstar separated the girly she-cats from the fit ones so that they don't get distracted by Blackbranch's tempt to mate.

Cloverspots thought about finding Whitepath and Runningheart with Stormpaw, Blackbranch's apprentice, who is trying to find out about his brother.

Wolfstar and the senior warriors went to the gathering, and in the meantime, Blackbranch had some "alone time" with Redbreath.

Redbreath has been announced pregnant with Blackbranch's kits.

  1. Blackbranch jumped in front of me. I growled at him, but he wouldn't move. "I wouldn't go if I were you. He's unstable, my brother. Not worth your time. There are better things to do." I stretched then took a deep breath.
"Is that so, Blackbranch? Your sister is dead, and you ignore your living littermate. Thats a nice thing to do, isn't it?" I scowled t him.
"Don't say I didn't warn you, Runningheart." I bounded off into the forest, following Whitepath's scent. He seemed to be talking to, well, nothing.
"Airpaw, they hate me there! Don't you see? I'd be happier, if- Wait, Airpaw, don't go! Please, please!" Whitepath whipped aroung.
"You!" he yowled, "Every time you show up she dissapears!" Then he leapt at e with his claws unsheathed and ripped at my pelt. I tried to throw him off the way I'd seen Wolfstar do before, but he backed off anyways.
"Runningheart? Runningheart I'm sorry!" he pleaded, "I didn't mean to!" I just blinked at him.
    "Doesn't matter." I shrug.
    "They look bad-"
"Not as bad as Rospaws." I told him. I looked at him, waiting for further explanation.

  2. Then i got the idea. "Run away with me." I blurted out at Runnungheart. She looked ataken back. "I need to leave this place. I cannot stay here anymore. But, could you come with me? Or, would you be angry with me that i would kill myself instead?"
    Runningheart looked utterly speechless.
"I have no place in Hiddenclan. My only friend is my DEAD SISTER. She is DEAD.GONE. What else can I do?" Tears started to well up in my eyes.
"I-I don't get it. I don't understand my life. I don't understand why Starclan placed me on this earth." Should i run now? I thought.
"Im ready to die." I muttered.
    "Whitepath, Don't-"
"I'D RATHER BE IN STARCLAN WITH AIRPAW THAN HERE, ONLY SEEING HER EVERY NOW AND THE, AND HAVING HER DISSAPEAR EVERY TIME YOU SHOW UP!" I lashed out at her, words and claws. My claws reached her pelt again, my words i'm assuming her heart, because she stood still. I looked at her pelt. Red, stained.
"I....Im a monster!" I said as I ran off. I ran as fast as my feet could take me.
Runningheart wasn't too far behind. "Whitepath!!!! WAIT!!"
I soon reached my destination. The cliff. I stopped and looked down. Then I looked at the sky. "I hope to see you soon, Airpaw." I said. And with that, I jumped.

(Don't worry, he's not dead. I have a good plan in store for him. ;)

  3. A split second gave me time to realize why I had found Hiddenclan and forgotten what came before. It didn't matter who I'd been, but I was here now to try to save this cat from himself.
My paws found a path down the cliff, down towards where Whitepath had fallen.
I could see him now, fallen, and out cold or-
    I didn't consider the alternative.
I started to run, but the wounds he had given me stopped me. They stung.
What was I doing? He hated me anyways. He always accused me of making his sister go away. It wasn't fair. But it would be wrong to leave him to die. I winced at every step, but reached Whitepath. I shook him a but, and whispered his name. He wasn't dea- well his pelt was still warm. When he opened is eyes, they widened instantly when he saw me.
"Why did you come back?" he asked, but calm this time.
"I wouldn't leave a cat to die. Even a cat who-" I tipped my head toward my torn flanks.
"I'm tired." I said, and curled up next to him.

  4. The next day, Whitepath and Runningheart hadn't come back. 2 cats that our clan lost. No problem, i could easily mate with one of the she-cats and produce more for the clan. I'm pretty sure the lucky she-cat would agree with me in any way.
In the morning, Stormpaw and I went on a patrol. Stormpaw was a very good cat. He absorbed information well, and was very good-natured. We reached the edge of the meadow, looking over the other territory. He asked me out of the blue, "Blackbranch, what do you think happened to that white cat? What was his name again?"
I looked at him. "My psycopath brother, Whitepath. He didn't really fit in this clan. I guess he's somewhere, moping."
"Oh." The apprentice looked down. "He was your brother?"
    "Yeah, sadly."
"Oh, I see the resemblence, you two both had brown tail-tips."
I remembered that, and looked at my tail. That was the only similarity between us. Our tails. And not even the whole tail, just the tip.
"Oh, yeah." I said, and we continued walking.
Our tails. That was the only thing. The only thing that looked like him, and he like me. A resemblence between us.
    I didn't like that.

  5. Whitepath and I rested, and when I woke up, he was licking the blood from my pelt.
"How do you feel?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"Fine, really. Sorry about yesterday. I don't really think its your fault about Airpaw. I think she just really wants me to talk to other cats." I looked at him like he was crazy, but kept my composure.
"Should we go back..?" I asked him.
"NO!!" he yowled, "Mean, no, I'm not ready to go back yet.
So then, we went looking for shelter. We came upon a cave in the cliff. I sniffed the air. Cats. Stale.
"Cats loved here." I whispered. "A long time ago."

  6. ~Awww memories of Falcon and Wolf are coming back to me now :) ~

"So..." I started. Runningheart looked at me. "I guess i'll find some new nesting material now."
    "Alright then."
I walked out of the cave, my side hurts from when i fell. Where was I? I looked up, only to find that we were at the bottom of the cliff. Would Airpaw come? I thought to myself as i found some branches. I tug at them, and my thoughts let out into anger.
"That stupid mouse-hearted black ball of-" and the branch fell off of the tree.
"He probably doesnt even care that i've left. He's happy. I'm happy too!" I screamed the last part. I gathered some moss.
"I am SO happy that i've left that retched place. Its like i've left the Dark Forest. Im glad. I could live here forever." (Then Whitepath wished that Airpaw was here so it wouldnt look like he's talking to himself.)
I came back to the cave, Runningheart was smelling around.
"I got some moss and a couple of branches." Runningheart jumped. I put the stuff down. Runningheart wlked over and said, "Great. I'll go hunt now." and she walked out. I assembled the nest.

  7. I padded back in with the mouse I had caught. It was pretty big. Whitepath was pacing and muttering to himself. No surprise there.
"Prey." I just said. For the first time, it seemed, he noticed that I was back. We sat down to eat it, and after the first few mouthfuls, curiosity got to me.
"Whitepath." I asked softly, "Tell me about Airpaw." He gaped at me, and he looked as if he wanted to have my pelt for it. Then he softened,
"Airpaw.. well, she understood me, to start..."

  8. "Ladies! Please! A tom needs his space!" A group of cats had gathered around me. I guess word had got out that I was in "Mating season", and they all wanted a piece of me.
    "Blackbranch! Hey! Over here!"
    "No, Blackie, how about me?"
    "What's going on?"
    "Blackbranch is thinking about mating!!"
"Oh, I pray to Starclan he'll pick me!!"
"GIRLS!" The tone of my voice calmed them down. "How about a little-" I winked at them, "Competition?"
All the she-cats went bizurk. They all screamed, "What is it?" or, "What will it be?"
I was thinking as fast as i could to think of a good challenge. "Oh- The one who finds the most beautiful feather will win! We will begin at sunrise tomorrow and end at sundown!"

    ReplyDelete
  9. (uhh... ok...)
i jumped on top of the high rock. "ALL FREAKIN' CATS OLD ENOUGH TO CATCH YOUR PREY GET OVER HERE NOW!!!" i howled at the mob of cats. i pointedly stared daggers at blackbranch, then hissed, "you stupid, ignorant she-cats. you'll never accomplish anything if you ALL follow your heart, and not your brain. that is, if you have one. since you are to obsessed with mating, i'm splitting you in half: the girly she-cat's have to train with me from moonhigh to sunrise for a moon, and the tom-like she cats can go on with whatever they want to do. blackbranch you are not aloud to talk to a girl unless it's me or cloverspots for a moon. understand?"
the girls protested, yowled, and screamed, and blackbranch gave me a pleading look. "LISTEN!" i screeched. "you all don't know a thing about fighting, are afraid to tear a claw, and are complete wimps! i'm gonna toughen you up the hard way, and if you don't like it, you can jump off the cliff!" everyone stood in complete unbelieving silence.
"the next time this happens, i'm going to seperate the she-cats to live at the bottom of the cliff and the toms at the top, in camp, isolated. am i clear?" there was a lot of grumbling. "good. meeting dismissed." i growled, and leapt off the rock. cloverspots padded up to me. "well. that was... interesting."
i just turned away, and rallied up the stupid girly shec-ats to have a training session. and this time it was claws unsheathed-bloodclan style.

  10. I actually felt pretty proud of Wolfstar for taking charge of all those silly she-cats. Not to mention that Blackbranch. I was seriously getting annoyed with him.
I remembered, though, watching his sister, Airpaw, die at my paws, and watching his brother go sort of crazy. His brother, I hadn't seen him in a while. Not to mention Runningheart.
Blackbranch's apprentice, Stormpaw looked pretty lost with his mentor in so much trouble. I could take him to go look for Whitepath and Runningheart. I could talk to Wolfstar later, anyways.

    ~Cloverspots~

I was happy here. Happy and ready to look for my brother. But I decided to give Whitpath some time before I brought that up again.

  11. oh great. i took the prissy felines into the training arena at moonhigh, then i rememberd there was supposed to be a gathering tonight.
"no training today, we'll have it tomorrow."
i went to camp, and gathered all the apprentices, cloverspots, skywhisker, firemoon, willowfoot, waveclaw, griffinclaw, and featherheart to come with me.

  13. "Alright, lets go." Wolfstar said to those who left. She looked very angry at me. I guess I should have been afraid of her, but I liked that about her. And, i guess i wanted to test her. So, once the other cats left, and the female cats were just roaming about, I picked one.
"Psst. Redbreath. Over here." She respectively walked over to me.
"Blackbranch! I thought that you weren't supposed to talk to us!" She smiled at my daringness.
"Yeah, well, Wolfstar isn't here, " I walked closer to her and rubbed my pelt against hers.
"And I have wanted to talk to you for the longest time." I whispered into her ear. She shivered.
    "Really? Me?"
I looked her in the eyes. "Yeah. Come on, I know a good place to talk."
We walked out of the camp without anyone noticing.

  14. the gathering was stupid and boring.
"and that's why Windclan's having troubles. Those stupid dogs-" onestar was interupted by me snickering at him.
    "what?!" he demanded.
"you cats can't handle dogs? dude, i kill dogs and keep their claws." i said, bringing my tail up to my precious studded collar. scourge had presented it to me with honor, and had praised me when i killed my first dog.
i would never take off my collar, even when i died.
onestar flicked his tail at me. "we are HONORABLE cats who scorn those wretched trophies of past battles." i rolled my eyes and stepped forward.
"hiddenclan's doing fine. i will soon teach my warriors to hunt foxes, as they don't hibernate, and will be a fine food source for the winter- i mean leaf bare. and so... yeah."
the gathering dismissed. as i walked home with my warriors, i smelled a familiar scent. blackbranch and redbreath.
i unsheathed my claws, and prowled forward. "wolfstar-" waveclaw muttered, but i waved her off.i silently motioned for ghostpaw, mistpaw, stormpaw and rosepaw to surround the tree.
then i flicked my tail at the tree, and me, skywhisker, and griffin silently clawed our way up the tree, and skywhisker pounced on redbreath, and griffin on blackbranch.
they had been doing something, and i didn't want to know what.
"back to camp!" i barked at them.
"but-" blackbranch intervened. "BACK TO CAMP! now!" i ordered, shoving them off the branch. the apprentices surrounded them, and we trudged miserably back to camp.

Wolfstar continued to train the she-cats, and I was starting to get sick of patching up whiny she-cats after a day of fierce training. I spotted Scourge around my den sometimes, laughing at them. Blackbranch seemed completely livid, and was taking it out on Stormpaw, his apprentice.

  18. Later, when I was checking over she-cats, I noticed something strange.
Redbreath was a bit fatter. I remembered the time when she was out in the woods with Blackbranch, and put two and two together.
    Uh-oh.
"Redbreath." I said calmly. "Let me check you over one more time, I think I might have missed something." She looked puzzled. While I examined her belly, she seemed to figure out what I was looking for.
"Have you felt tired, lately?" I asked.
"Yeah, I have, actually." she said. She looked terrified, and I felt sort of sorry for her.
"Well, your expecting kits, just one or two by my guessing. In a moon." I concluded.

  19. Runningheart and I were happily living in the cave. She was a good person, trying to help me. But, Airpaw didn't come again for a long time. I guess I had just gotten over her, but one night, i had this dream.
I was running in a field of dead grass, the sun was just about to set. Basically everything was yellow. I crouched, and saw a pair of light green eyes.
"A-Airpaw?" I walked towards the eyes. She was there, waiting for me.
    "Airpaw,I-"
"Not now, Whitepath. I have to tell you something."
    I sat down.
"Look, Runningheart is a good person. She's helping you with me, right?"
    "Very much."
"Thats good. Now, remember when she told you that she remembered a long-lost brother?"
"Oh, yeah. That was some time ago."
"He's close by. Just keep searching."
    "Wait, what?"
"Goodbye." She said and padded away.
    "Wait, Airpaw, wait!!"
    I woke up.

    -bloodclan
    -wolf pack

and probably a bunch of others...)
i stormed over to black branch. i had seen him abusing his apprentice, and he was about to be shredded.
ghostpaw walked next to me, at my pace, which didn't surprise me; i knew his secret.
mistpaw trailed behind ghostpaw, and rosepaw trotted up to us to join the party.
"why's wolfstar so mad?" she asked quietly. rushingpaw caught up to her and asked, "isn't she always mad? at like, her life? " i almost exploded at that comment. i whipped around, told them to shut up, and kept walking. then loudpaw stuck his head out of the apprentice den.
"hey" he called. rushingpaw waved her tail at him, and he walked over. i rolled my eyes. by the time i made it over to stormpaw and blackbranch, all of the apprentices were following me.
"hey, what's up?" asked blackbranch innocently. i narrowed my eyes at him. "i'm going to teach the clan how to fight foxes." i growled.
i glanced at the medicine cat den, then took a double take when i saw redbreath coming out, her belly a little bigger than usual. nlackbranch's eyes flashed with worry, and something in me snapped.
i gave him a calm and menacing look that scourge gave cats when he was over-the-edge-angry.
i padded up to redbreath, and she looked a little worried.
"we're going to learn to hunt foxes." i said silkily, i drew a wet paw over my ear, but flexed my claws while doing it. "i want you to lead the patrol." i said.
    she inhaled sharply. "but i-"
"what?" i said, with a hint of claws in my voice. "it's not like you're carrying kits and can't do it." i said innocently.
"but.. um.. oh! uh, i don't know how to hunt a fox. yeah." redbreath said, looking proud of her answer.
"oh, i'll be there. besides, you'll never learn if you never try." i said, and turned around, pushing past the apprentices, who we're staring wide-eyed. i grinned to myself as i walked towards my den.

  21. "Wolfstar!" I shouted angrily. I ran into her den.
"WHAT?" she yowled. I whispered so the other cats couldn't hear.
"Its okay to be mad a Redbreath, because you and I both know she's pregnant with Blackbranch's kits. But making her hunt foxes isn't punishing her, its punishing unborn kits! Why should we judge her kits just because what she did is wrong? Its cruel."
Wolfstar looked ready to claw me. I felt a sense of deja vu.
"Fine." she snarled, "But I'm announcing this to the whole clan. Right now. Thats her punishment." she smiled, "For now."

    -Cloverspots

    ReplyDelete
  22. i shoved past cloverspots, with a sense of deja vu, unfortunately. she and always fought like this: i'd say something or do something to get back at someone, she'd counter me and tell me not to. i'd want to shred her, and she'd give me this look like, 'you KNOW it's the right thing to do and you have to listen to me because i'm your medicine cat.'
and i'd be like, 'whatever', and actually HAVE to do what she says. i know. it's terrible. oh well, i've gotten used to it.
i walked with my claws flexed all the way out, as a habit from being in bloodclan.
i stepped out of my den, gave a scorching glare at blackbranch, and slashed the air in his direction, as a, 'i'll deal with you later'. warning.
"all cats old enough to catch your own prey, yada, yada, blah blah blah, you know the drill. just get over here please. like, now."
everyone did, and i looked over at redbreath, who was apparently having a breakdown.
"so, i called you because i'm gonna teach you how to hunt foxes. it's because foxes don't hibernate; like the wolf, they hunt all winter. so that gives us two reasons to hunt them: they're eating OUR potential prey, and we have to stop them, so we might as well eat them; and two, they'll benefit us by giving us food in the winter when everything else has to hibernate. so, i'm taking the fittest out to hunt, which unfortunately doesn't include so-thought 'healthy' redbreath." the cats looked at me weird, then relized what i meant when they looked at her. i heard whispering:
"what kind of she cat has kits during LEAFBARE? idiot! the kit's will freeze to death!"
"wait, who's their father?" it didn't take long for them to figure out. the clan sat in shocked silence, and blackbranch kept his head low.
i broke the silence. "so, i did not permit blackbranch to speak to a she-cat, much less pick a mate and have kits. and during the winter?!"
suddenly the clan burst into talking.
then i leapt off the high rock, and everyone turned quiet. i walked slowly up to blackbranch.
"do you know how my tribe mother died?" i asked him quietly. his head got lower.
"i'll tell you. my father decided to have kits during the winter. when stoneteller found out, he punished my mother, starlight. he asked who was their father, and my father denied me as his kit.
stoneteller didn't know who to punish, so he kicked starlight out of the tribe. she gave birth to me and my brother in the snow, and she froze to death. the only reason we lived was because lira, a wolf, found me and took me to bloodclan." i hissed the last sentence.
"i'm not a forgiving or understanding cat, cloverspots can tell you. you're lucky i'm not like stoneteller. but i do hate cats who defy me.redbreath will not have to hunt foxes today. but she will find out soon enough that she made an unwise decision." i looked at her. she was quivering.
"we'll hunt the foxes later." i flicked my tail, and saw cloverspots giving me an annoyed look. "meeting dismissed." i muttered, and walked back to my den. i lied down to sleep, opened my eyes, and saw i was in the dark forest. scourge was waiting for me.

  23. I was used to Wolfstars larger-than-life schemes and contradictory attitude.
And yet, out clan was alive, healthy, and doing well. In fact, despite all odds, we were strong, an imposing force on the other clans, although, we hadn't had a battle with another clan yet.
Well, it didn't matter. I just hoped Wolfstar really knew how to deal with the foxes. Then I licked my lips, wondering if fix tasted good.

wolfstar headed out of camp with all the apprentices, waveclaw, willowfoot, magic, griffinclaw, dawnlight and dragonwing.
"ok, hunting foxes isn't like fighting them. you have to be sneaky, like they are." wolfstar said.
ghostpaw was interested in how to do this. wolfstar had told him she'd found a den for them to hunt at already during training.
"ok, first, we have to lure them into the den. i'm gonna use this rabbit. " she said, dragging the rabbit she'd been carrying into the den.
"now we split up. half of us hide by the den, waiting for the fox, and the other half track the fox. waveclaw, dawnlight, griffinclaw, rushingpaw, mistpaw, and rosepaw stay to guard the den, but hide if the fox comes near. the rest of you, follow me. " wolfstar said.
ghostpaw followed her with stormpaw, dragonwing, willowfoot, loudpaw, and speedpaw. we followed the fox scent, and soon saw it's rust-red fur.
"ok, now we need an apprentice who won't strike the fox as strong, to come forward." no one did. wolfstar beckoned rosepaw forward.
    "you'll do it."
    "do what?" rosepaw asked.
"you'll lead the fox to the den. you'll walk to the den-careful to leave your scent- and when you get there, hide with the others. then make sure to cover your scent so it won't find you. it'll smell the rabbit in the den. once it is occupied with the rabbit, you and the other warriors will trap it in the den and kill it." wolfstar said. rosepaw's eyes glinted with determination.
    -------------------
after she was gone, we had to hunt normal food for a couple minutes, to give the fox time to follow rosepaw's trail. then we went back to the den, to see the warriors standing over a dead fox.
"good job!" dragonwing, wolfstar, and willowfoot said in unison.
waveclaw flicked her tail at mistpaw proudly.
"she delivered the killing bite." waveclaw announced happily.
we dragged the first fox back to camp.

  26. hi! i'm Spottedfire, and you guys may remember me from the FanFiction page at Heat of the Forest. I wanna join HiddenClan soooo bad!!
SO... Spottedfire is a orange she- cat with faded gray spots on her flank. The tribe of endless hunting made a prophecy about her: The graying fire shall save your tribe, and gave it to Crag Where Eagles Nest, who is the new Stoneteller. On her journey to the mountains ( she was summoned in a dream ) and lost her sister, best friend, and mate in her journey. She then refuses to help the tribe cats because they treated her poorly, until they figure out that she was the cat in the prohecy. She then leaves and seeks shelter in the Clans. Every leader turns her down, even Firestar because StarClan warned him to beware of an orange spotted cat. He then gets attavked by a orange rouge, who takes one of his lives. Spottedfire then wanders into HiddenClan territory and found by a patrol. Wolfstar prosecutes her for info, but Spottedfire is too weak to answer. She falls in love with Whitepath, though ( sadly ) he doesn't return her love. Spottedfire wishes to run away again, like she had all her life ( she admitted this to Wolfstar. ) Soon, StarClan sends her a odd dream. Mossshade ( a DarkClan cat, sister off Rainsong, who died giving birth to her kits ) comes to Spottedfire and warns her that only HiddenClan can help her do the prophecy that the Tribe of Endless Hunting has proclaimed and complet the path her ancestors choose for her.

  27. cool story. i'm just visiting, but joining would be cool. i am Longpath, named for the extraordinary life, journey, and hardships StarClan has set down for me. I once belonged to ShadowClan, but they threw me out when I almost gave a cat a deathberry. Blackstar threw Deathwing out with me, too. When she was born, her mom had greencough. Her dad caught it, too. She was the only survivor in a litter of four. The queen that nursed her lost three kits as well. Dawnpelt, who hated Deathwing, convinced Rowanclaw to tell Blackstar to kick out the black she- cat. We kinda wandered around the edge of the Clan territories, until Runningheart found us and brought us to Wolfstar. Knowing that the leader wouldn't like to take us in, Runningheart said that she found us on HiddenClan territory. Wolfstar notices that we had the stregnth of a warrior and reeked of ShadowClan, she ordered us to explain. We did, and she pitied us for being thrown out for such a stupid reason. She let us stay to get better, only to get attached to Deathwing because she was so confiding and could easily worm the truth out of any cat. Our story starts from here.

  31. Yeah, Longpath, Deathwing, and I are all the same people. So, Longpath's desciption is:
Longpath was once a member of DarkClan, until they got driven out by WindClan. Longpath always looks worn, wary, and tired because StarClan always sends her prophetic dreams and quests. She lost all of her family in the battle between WindClan and DarkClan in the battle for the tunnels.

    Deathwing description:

Deathwing is a pure black she-cat, thrown out of ShadowClan because on the night of her birth, her mother, father, and three littermates all died from greencough. She feels a special connection to Whitepath and Blackbranch and sees Airpaw in her dreams.

  32. An bright orange spotted cat crouched at a pool, staring at the star refections as if they held an answer she had been seeking. Behind her, many cats watched from the shadows, mud coating their pelts. A dark silver tabby with white paws stepped out of the bracken and crept up toward the orange cat.
"Spottedfire," the tabby called, "Please. I know you are upset, but no cat can avoid fate. Not even the Tribe of Endless Hunting can change the fact that we- I- need you. You must help us, Spottedfire."
The orange she- cat looked up, eyes gaunt and full of cold hate. "I lost everything, EVERYTHING!! My home, my sister, my mate...." her eyes welled up with tears. "All in my journey to find you. I'm going to the Clans to attempt to rebuild my broken life. Maybe a cat from my past survived and made it there." She got up and turned away in the other direction.
"Wait!" the tabby shrieked. "My Tribe still needs you!"
"You still need me?" Spottedfire spat ruefully. "After all I did? After all I sacrificed? If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's to never trust in those who need you. Your tribe threw me out! But you instantly welcomed me back when you heard the prophecy! 'The Graying Fire Shall Save You.' Ha! I'll save you."
Spottedfire turned around, walking away for real this time.
"From nothing!" she yowled to the Tribe cats.

Spottedfire sat up in her nest, well before any other cat. She shivered. Even now, she could hear Moonfoot calling after her, feel the branches tear at her pelt as she ran away fro the Tribe. Why does that accursed she- cat continue an attemp to summon me? Spottedfire thought in rage. I thought I made it clear that I wasn't coming back! Well, she thought as she climbed out of the HiddenClan warrior's den. The Tribe will just have to learn that some cats have free will.

  33. Spottedfire stared wistfully at Whitepath. If only he knew how much I understand him, she thought in sorrow. She jumped as blackbranch swept his tail over her pelt. "Spottedfire," he mewed softly. "I've wanted to talk to you for a long time."
Spottedfire rolled her eyes, knowing he couldn't see her. I'll just go along with it, she thought. he knows that he can't talk to she-cats. He's just using me as a distraction from his punishment. She smirked. If that's how he wants it, then let the games begin.
"Oh really," I said, faking a blush. "Do you want to go somewhere quiet, where we can talk?" he asked, smug that he though I had fallen under his spell. I widened my eyes with pretend love and shock. "I thought Wolfstar banned you from mating!" I gasped. He gave me a sly smile. "She banned every she-cat but you." I grinned, pretending to praise him for his cleverness of findiing that 'loophole'. "Okay," I murmured. He walkeed me over to a tall, conceled tree, careful of not leaving scent marks. I gave him a fake winning smile as we climbed up the tree trunk. When we reached the top, he stared into my eyes. I suppressed a smirk when memories of mating with Redbreath reached my mind. I clamped my jaw shut to keep quiet when his thoughts turned to what he told her. They were the exact same things he was telling me! I abruptly clawed him, hard. "What was that for?!" he hissed. I sneered freely. "Why in the name of StarClan whould you ever think I would fall for a scum bag mouse brain like you?" I jeered. He looked at me in horror. "You won't tell Wolfstar, will you?" he whispered in fear. I leapt lightly off the branch I was on with him onto another one. "Maybe I will," I said as i jumped off the tree to the ground.

  34. (SPOTTEDFIRE WHITEPATH ISN'T AT CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!! He's at the bottom of the cliff with Runningheart, you have to read the whole story)

"Runningheart?" I blinked open my eyes to see Whitepath. He smiled at me.
"What should we do today?" In the last few sunrises, Whitepath had shown a side of him I hadn't seen before. We had been going on various adventures, sometimes looking for my brother, and other times doing ridiculous things like trying to teach ourselves to fish.
Anyways, we found a small patch of forest that we had yet to explore, and it was full of the scent of cats.
Suddenly, we were surrounded by a band of rogues.
"NO!" yowled Whitepath, "You can't hurt Runningheart!" and hurled himself at the nearest cat.

  35. {okay, so deathwing, longpath, and spottedfire are all my people. err... cats. i'm going to post as the the same person, but sign as one of those characters.}
Deathwing blinked when she woke up in a field of flowers. She realized that she was in StarClan. She then noticed a small gray she-cat watching her. She smiled. Airpaw. Deathwing always loved when the dead apprentice visited her in dreams. Deathwing frowned when she noticed Airrpaw's troubled expression. "Airpaw," Deathwing called. Airpaw stood up. "Deathwing," Airpaw answered. "There has been trouble in StarClan. They feel that HiddenClan is rejecting the warrior code."
Deathwing was shocked. "But we weren't!" she protested. "We aren't! Why
    would StarClan think that?"
Airpaw shrugged. "Because Wolfstar is always scorning the other Clans when they report their problems." Deathwing nodded, knowing that was the truth. "Will they force us to leave?" she asked, scared of the answer.
"Possibly," Airpaw mewed softly. Deathwing stumbled backward. NO! she wanted to yowl. HiddenClan is my home! It's basiclly the home of so many rouges seeking a home, loners seeking shelter, outcasts and rejects seeking company and comfort. Airpaw stared at her empetheticly.
Deathwing raced away from Airpaw, from the meadow, from the cold idea. Soon she was in a cold forest, dark and damp. Perfect, Deathwing thought. A place where I can wander until I wake up. Suddenly, an all too familiar scent hit her in the nose. Deathwing froze and pressed herself against a tree, willing the cat to go away. How can he be here? she thought in fear. How can I be here?! It was Hollowheart, a warrior from her old Clan, the nameless Clan. Hollowheart stopped and sniffed the air. "Deathwing," he muttered mutinously. "If she's here, I can unleash my wrath on her. He sniffed around, while Deathwing scurried up a tree, as fast and quietly as she could. Hollowheart shook his head below. "Must've imagined it," he muttered as he stalked off. Then Deathwing turned around to lie down in the tree, and she noticed a pair off vicious amber eyes staring at her. "Now I've got you, Ivypool," the voice said. Deathwing had just enough time to faint before claw cut into her pelt.

  37. i watched in horror as deathwing's pelt was clawed open by unseen claws. "she cant't be in the Dark Forest," i whispered in fear. suddenly, i gasped as a invisible tounge lapped up deathwing's blood. i stood curiously, wondering what was happening. deathwing moaned in pain, and some nearby warriors stired. "longpath," spottedfire murmred, "what's happening?" "uhh," i stammered, "nothing. go back to sleep. i think deathwing's got a thorn in her nest. i'll try to get it out." deathwing meowed someting inaudible, and i hissed softly in frustation. what was going on?!

  38. i shuddered as something damp tickled my fur. i gaged when the slimy scent of my blood hit me in the throat. "oh...." a voice whimpered. "i thought this cat was ivypool, breezepelt." the cat called breezepelt hissed. "i want to kill ivypool as much as you do, tigerheart, but don't you think attacking random she-cats is really beneath you?" tigerheart hissed in spite of himself. then his voice took a suspicious tone. "who is this cat, anyway? i've never seen her before, and she doesn't smell like any clan i know."breezepelt murmured in agreement. "you don't think...." tigerheart mewed. "how would a rouge get here?" breezepelt answered. i sat up. the two toms unsheathed their claws and hissed. i gave a barly audible whimper and the gray-black tom shoved me to my feet. will i ever get back to hiddenclan? i wondered. the dark tabby tom whispered something to the black one. "i'm tigerheart," the tabby said, "and this is breezepelt. who are you and how did you get to the dark forest?" i froze. the dark forest? that's where i am? no wonder i saw hollowheart! "umm..." i stammered. then i put on my brave face, realizing that these were dark forest warriors. "i'll only tell if you say why you attacked me."
"well," tigerheart began, "I thought you were a different cat. this cat almost killed my brother and killed the last echo of breezepelt's clanmate." "antpelt's death was her fault in the first palce!" breezepelt hissed. "who is this cat?" i asked casually. "her name is ivypool," they said in union.

  39. "well," i said. "my name is deathwing." the toms stared at me. "why would any cat name their kit deathwing?" tigerheart meowed. "did you kill a cat?" breezepelt asked. "when i was kitted," i growled, "my i cought had greencough. my dad and mom got it to, as did my littermates. they all died, including my parents. my old clan's deputy, furyclaw, convinced coldstar to throw me out a day after my warrior ceremony. so yeah, i killed four kits and two full grown cat before i opened my eyes." they both stared at me. "oh yeah," i added, "i forgot. i also killed two other queens and six other kits." breezepelt's jaw dropped. tigerheart was too stunned to move. i smirked. "yeah, three of my partners left me when i told them that." tigerheart shook himself out of shock and breezepelt closed his mouth. " have you ever killed a cat?" tigerheart mewed. "i mean, on purpose, in battle." "oh, yeah," i hissed, "coldstar changed my name from blackpaw to deathpaw after my first battle. i wounded four cats so badly, they died before the battle was over. i'm not kidding. walk into starclan and ask for sunsteam, lilyeye, graypelt, and longfur. they'll tell you." breezepelt glanced at tigerheart. tigerheart nodded. breezepelt cleared his throat. "ahem... deathwing, if brokenstar said yes, would you join the ranks of the dark forest?" i grinned slyly. "you sure you wanna ask me?' i mewed ominously. "i might kill you in a duel or exersise..... but yes. of course i'll join." tigerheart nodded. "great," he said. "i'll go tell brokenstar." he ran off, leaving me alone with breezepelt. "so," i asked slyly, "you wanna see my skills?" he skidded away. "uhh, no," he mewed hastily, "save it for training." i smirked and nodded. "see you tomorrow," i called as i walked away to wake up. as soon as i was far enough away, i broke down and cried. "why," i wailed to the dark sky. "why did my life punish me so?"

  40. As lied down in my nest to sleep, a wave of fresh dread washed over me. The Dark Forest. The very idea sent shivers up my spine. But you have to go, I reminded myself grimly. I needed some way to tell Ivypool that she was not alone. That someone else was forced to fight at night, for their Clan. I shivered again- but this time, it wasn't from emotion. I wailed with pain as the light of the Warrior's Den faded from my vision. I heard cats rush in, and watched their worried expressions become blank gazes. I gave another cry of pain as I felt myself slide away from the world. And then blackness hit me, square in the eye.

  41. In the midest of the dark, I saw pinpoint of light. I came closer, and bobbed up and down slightly. I watched it, hypnotized, and stood still as it engulfed me. I was suddenly in the nursery of my old Clan. I wondered what was going on. I screamed when I saw my mother, moaning as she kitted. I watched the medicine cat, Redfire, mew soothingly to her as my father hovered worriedly. I flinched as my littermates slid into the moss, myself coming last. I wished to run away when I heard my kit self begin to cough, and my littermates following suit. Redfire shoved herbs into my mouth, knowing the other kits were well gone. The memories flashed forward, until I watched my apprentice self, known as Blackpaw, charge into battle for the first time. I wish to claw the faces of old Clanmates, cats who helped make my early life miserable. My I tear my attention away from them to watch the worst moment of my life: the killing of four enemy Clan cats. I brace myself to await the next few minuets of horror. First, the moans of pain. Next, the yowls of surprise and rage. And finally, the looks of fury and hatred; from both the enemy Clan and my own. The scene flashes forward to the Clan Meeting soon called after the battle. I watch myself sit away from other cats. Coldstar yowls for silence, and gives me an unreadable look. I flinch, both my memory self, and my preset self. Coldstar begins her icy lecture.
"And so," she concludes, "Death seems to follow this apprentice everywhere. From this day forward, you shall be known as Deathpaw, in 'honor' of the deaths that seem to multiply around you."
The camp is silent. Then the cats take up the name in a chant, "Deathpaw, Deathpaw." Murmuring it like a curse. Like a prophecy of destruction.
    Which it was.

When I wake again, I am in Cloverspots' den, her looming over me nervously. My body feels stiffer than a tree, my pelt heavier than stone.
"Deathwing," she asks,"You were in a coma, out for three days. What happened?"
I try to answer, but no sound comes out. I try again, and all that comes out is a raspy hiss. I feel my eyes shine blue instead of green. "Three of your cats hold the secret."
I pass out again, holding only an image of Cloverspots looking terrifed and calling for help.

  42. I had seen cats like this before, especially in Hiddenclan, the clan of rogues, loners, kittypets, discarded clan cats. Like me. Cats who had seen the unspeakable and waded through rivers of blood. Cats who had seen death all around them. Cats who saw the same terrifying images over and over and over in sleep.
Hoping the old trick would work on a cat so deep in sleep, I chewed up a bunch of thyme with a bit of juniper and plopped it on Deathwing's nose, hoping she'd lick it off. Thankfully, she did. Skywhisker, my old friend, appeared by my side.
"Whats the deal with her?" she asked.
"I don't know Sky. Probably another one who's seen way more than she needs too." I said.
"Like the rest of us?" asked Skywhisker. I thought of the number of time Tigerstar had tried to kill me.
    "Yes, a bit like that."
"Trouble seems to follow you, Clover. Do you think she means something?" she asked me.
"She did say, 'Three of your cats have the answer' We'll have to wait until she wakes up to learn more." Skywhisker nodded, and padded out.

  43. wolfstar darted into the into the med den.
"what happened, when, and who did you kill?" wolfstar yelled.
"fury get out of my way! i'm gonna kill you! you wanna bet?! i hate you! i KNOW your not my mother! MY MOTHER IS DEAD! i hate my life, but i hate you more!!!" wolfstar snarled at the air. she lashed out at nothing, and growled. skywhisker leapt on her, while yelling,
    "what's wrong with her?!"
wolfstar slammed her into the wall. "I hate you!!!"
skywhisker slashed wolfstar's eye, which opened.
"umm... what do you think your doing, skywhisker?"
"what do you mean? you were going crazy!" she yelled.
cloverspots stepped forward." i think i know what happened. the entire time, wolf's eyes were closed. she was sleep... fighting?"
wolfstar shook out her fur, a little disoriented.
"well, um, what happened?and who is THAT?!" she growled at deathwing.
"according to his sleep talk he's killed many kits, cats, queens and so on."
"and....?" wolfstar said, unimpressed. just 'cuz he killed a bunch of cats didn't really bother her, and it wasn't keeping him from joining hiddenclan. after all, she was leader and killed a bunch of animals; her former deputy also killed a lot.
"can you wake him up?" she asked.

  44. "No, I can't wake her up, but I can speed her up waking. In fact, I already gave her some herbs that will wake her." I said. "I think she's pretty disoriented. She's seen way too much death."
"So have I." said Wolfstar, annoyed.
"Yeah, but she doesn't have mental stability the way you do." I said. Wolfstar shrugged."True."
I told Wolfstar about the "prophecy" Deathwing had given.
"Although, if its from Starclan, it would have been sent to me. Dark Forest? No, it would have been sent to you." I reasoned.
    Then, Deathwing woke up.

  45. Jetstream heard what they were talking about and quickly ran out of camp. He passed Firemoon and Blackbranch along with other cats but ignored their cries as he sprinted out of camp. As soon as he made it to a place he only knew about, he sat down and then it really began. All his memories seemed to be let off their leash at once. And they hit him like a slap in the face.

Him as a kit growing up and playing with Birchkit. It fastforwarded to his apprenticeship with Fernpaw. Then the next thing he knew, Birchpaw was telling Jetpaw how much he loved Fernpaw.

Jetpaw sat by Fernpaw and she leaned in so she could say something in his ear. "i really like you, jetpaw." was what she had said. Then it fastforwarded to his warrior ceremony with Birchpaw/Birchfang and Fernpaw/Fernsong. He saw Birchfangs loving glance at Fernsong. Then it fastforwarded again to show Fernsong leaning into him and licking his back. Then he saw his past self purring and licking her ear in response. The next thing he knew he was watching Birchfang go up behind Russetstar and kill him, wrenching all his remaining lives out of him like he was gutting a fish. (if cats do that lol) Time slowed down as he saw Birchfang turn and give a wicked smile in Jetstreams direction. Then, he saw Birchfang yowl and run to the center of camp. "RUSSETSTAR IS DEAD!! JETSTREAM KILLED HIM!!" he yowled.

Then he saw his confrontation with Birchfang and then he saw himself being escorted out of camp, his sister Mapleleaf giving a choked sob as she watched him go past the shoulders of protective clanmates. He also saw a disbelieving glance from a plump looking Fernsong.

All the memories cut off, leaving him gasping for air, his claws dug into the ground, his whole body shivering.

  46. wolfstar shrugged. 'deathwing' might''ve seen lotsa death, but he should've learned to live with it. cats who couldn't hold it together tended to fall apart mentally.
"yo, death kitty, wake up and suck it up. we're killing time. where'd ya come from and why are you here?"
    deathwing looked up, dazed.
"my-my name is deathwing. please just stay away from me. you don't know what i've done."
"you have no idea, do you? well pay attention. half of us are loners, rogues, clan rejects, orphans, freaks, bloodclanners, and well- you get the idea. you're not the only one who's had a dark past, ya know. almost all of us have killed someone." wolfstar muttered.
    skywhisker added, "you're among friends."

"You don't understand. I've had it worse than the rest of you." This was probably the last thing you want to say to Wolfstar.
"Worse? Worse? You think you've had it bad!? My mentor was killed! My friends! Skywhisker and Cloverspots were forced out of their clans! We've all been torn apart. But we're here, so you have to learn to live with it!" Deathwings eyes widened, then she layed back down.
"I'm tired." she said simply, and closed her eyes. Skywhisker shifted her paws uncomfortably. Cloverspots sighed.

  48. {WOLFSTAR, DEATHWING'S A GIRL!!!}
My eyes closed, blocking the crazy cats out. They don't know what I've seen, I think bitterly. They don't know what I've done. When I opened my eyes, I was in a grassy field, filled with wildflowers. A pretty black she-cat stands in front of me, eyes worried and loving.
"My dear daughter," she meows. I stare at her bleakly.
"I'm sorry," I whisper. "I killed you, your mate, and your kits." I bow my head, and she lifts it up with her tail.
"It wasn't you," she says wisely. "I'm sorry you were forced to live with the idea that you killed your family. But it wasn't your fault. The Dark Forest sent the greencough as a test, to see how deeply a cat can grieve.
But they eagerly sat up like dogs when they noticed the fighting spit in you, and your skills. You won't go there, don't worry, but I know they call you there. Spy for your Clan, and do not fret. StarClan has been with you from the moment of your birth, and will be beside you in your darkest hour."
I open my mouth to protest, but I wake up in a blur.
In the medicine den, I notice I am not alone. I glare at Wolfstar, who is, surprisingly, still there, along with Cloverspots and Skywhisker. They give me questioning looks, and I zone out.
"She didn't even tell me her name...." I murmur. Wolfstar cocks her head and says, "Your mom's name is Oceanwave, Deathcat." I glare at her and answer coolly, "The name's Deathwing. It's fine to go though memories i DO remember, but things I DON"T remember are off limits."
She looks utterly stunned for a moment, but then regains her fighting composoure. "I hate my life," she mutters randomly and stalks to her den. I look at Cloverspots and say, "Glad you guys understand." She nodds and hands me some herbs. I take them placidly. Skywhisker motions me to follow her and I oblige. She asks me if I'm fit for patrols and whatnot, and I tell her I'm fine. She nods and sends me to the warriors den, and I lie down to sleep. I open my eyes and, what do you know, I'm in the Dark Forest. What a surprise.

  49. "i didnt deserve this fate....." he said aloud. The next thing he knew Fernsong, who died of a dog attack before her kits had even come close to coming, was standing beside him.

"yes you did. your a traitor. you killed my father. you lied to me. you lied to Mapleleaf. Your a traitor." she hissed in his ear, disappearing for a moment before popping back up on his other side.

"no, no im not. i didnt kill Russetstar. Birchfang did. He wanted to be leader so he could impress you." he said, giving a choked sob. He was losing it, he knew.

"no, you killed him so you could lead Barkclan to destruction and chaos!!!" she snarled.

"no! i didnt k-" he was cut off by Fernsong.

"WHY DID I HAVE TO DIE INSTEAD OF YOU?!?!? YOU deserve it more than me!! YOU killed Russetstar!! YOU ruined everyones lives!! I didnt! I just stood by and watched!!" she yowled.

"i dont know, fernsong..... i dont know... it wouldve been better if i had. I SHOULDNT BE ALIVE!!! WHY AM I ALIVE?! I SHOULD BE DEAD!!" He screamed, but noone could hear him luckily.

Fernsong disappeared and Mapleleaf stepped into view. She had froze to death while looking for him. "hello, TRAITOR." she hissed.

Her words hit Jetstream like a physical blow. He completely lost it, sobbing, and yelling, and throwing. He threw 3 rocks and a stick at his sisters ghost. "I DIDNT!!! IM NOT A TRAITOR!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!" He yells, collapsing onto his stomach and putting his paws over his head.

  50. The Dark Forest. Ahh, the bliss. Cats yowling in pain, the sound of fur tearing, and the reek of blood. How it mortifies me that cats actually CHOOSE this. But, the life of battle can have rewards. Sometimes. Brokenstar calls a meeting and I reluctantly come. He seeks me out and gives me a pleased look. I feel like vomiting. Brokenstar yells, "Warriors and apprentices of the Dark Forest! We have a new member who has proved herself to be a true Clanmate and warrior!" I fell my blood turn cold at the words. "Deathwing! Come here!" Brokenstar calls with a glint in his eyes. I hear mutterings at my name as I walk up to the Dark Rock, as I call it. "Deathwing," Brokenstar meows with a hint of evil. "You have proved yourself worthy of a warrior's rank. You have made the way of our path to glory clearer!" I didn't even know there was a path. What did I do? "She has helped other cats here to step up and train harder. I know that doesn't sound like much, but she has done other things, things to be left unsaid, that has progressed the Dark Forest. We welcome Deathwing as a true warrior!"
Oh, joy. Every cat says my name, sweet bliss, and gives me either envious or vicious looks. Great. A pretty silver she-cat comes up to mwe and whispers, "This place isn't what you think it is."
I roll my eyes and say sarcasticly, "*gasp*Noo." She looks at me funny.
"Meet me at the river that borders WindClan and ThunderClan, we'll talk then." I say.
As she leaves, I notice that's the second time a cat's done me a favor, and I don't know their names. Oh, goody.

  51. Jetstream finally got a hold of his self and stormed out of the hiding place and flumped down in his nest in the warriors den. Fernsong and Mapleleafs ghosts still were with him. 'great... im being haunted by cats who hate my guts.... couldnt get much better than this.' he thought, laying his head down and falling asleep. He had the usual dream. But worse. MUCH worse. Fernsong and Mapleleaf had entered his nightmares and they were tearing his mind apart. He wanted to just yell but then cats would look at him like he was crazy. So, instead he clenched his jaw and stuck out the night. What he wouldnt give to be back in his old life before the exile.

"I think Deathwing has been in the Dark Forest a lot lately." Wolfstar nodded.
    "No surprise."
"And Jetstream is being haunted by Starclan cats, for some strange reason. And since I'm going to the moonpool tonight, since it is half-moon, I thought maybe you should check things out in the Dark Forest."
"You can't tell me when to visit the Dark Forest." said Wolfstar dismissively. "Besides I go a lot more than you think."

So, death got mad at wolf for going into stuff she didnt remember, and wolf is kinda sorta stunned, give or take, that death knew her powers. Sorry 4 the confusion!!)

  56. I met with Ivypool on the border of WindClan and ThunderClan. We discussed the evil and plot of the Dark Forest in hushed tones. I decided to trust her after a few minuets into the conversation. I realized that felt more lost there than me, which I had thought impossible. After we were done, we swore to be cold to each other in public and meet there every quarter moon. I raced back to my nest, only to wake up in the Dark Forest. Yay. The first thing I noticed was the huge wave of fighting heading my way. I readily unsheathed my claws and leapt into the crazy fray. I clawed my way to Tigerheart, him being the only cat I trusted here, not including Ivypool. He told me that one cat, he wasn't sure who, had said that the Dark Forest was evil and was going to attack the Clans. Of course, every cat jumped on him, yowling that he was wrong, althewhile clawing him. Tigerheart was almost certain that the cat was dead now, or at least had lost so much blood he was unconsious. I shivered, having experienced extreme blood loss firsthand. I wondered who the cat was, and how stupid those actions were. I clawed cats at random, hearing squeals of pain every time my claws made their mark. I ran into Breezepelt, who said he hoped the cat was Ivypool. I nodded in harsh agreement, although silently hoping it was Hollowheart. I thought I saw Wolfstar in there once or twice, and I also thought she nipped my tail. But when I saw who the cat was, the cat who spoiled the Dark Forest's plans, my eyes widened and my heart stopped.

"long time no see Deathwing! how you been?!?" Rowanstorm mewed, his discieveing green eyes glinting in the gloomy halflight of the Dark Forest.

"well you gunna answer me or not?!" he continued.

Deathwing took a deep breath before replying. "i've been fine thanks." she manages to get out.

"good. so why are you in this part of the Dark Forest? you've never come this far in before. even when i offered to come with you." He mews, sitting down.

"i wanted to see who was here." she mewed fighting to keep her voice steady.

"mhmm. you wanted to see who the bug was didnt you." He snarled unconvinced by her answer.

"yeah. but why'd you do it?"

"because i cant get in trouble here. im an IDOL practically here, besides wolfstar, hawkfrost, tigerstar and brokenstar anyway." he hissed, grinning rather proud of himself.

  61. I fought to hide my disgust. Rowanstorm had mentored me in my dreams as an apprentice, like so many other cats. I had killed the four cats before he started visiting me. I still don't know why I let him teach me to fight in my dreams. I guess he promised to help me make other cats like me, the filthy hypocrite. Cats just hated me more, because a mere apprentice could beat them in training.
"Train with me, Deathwing?" Rowanstorm asked. I stared at him as if he said, 'Mate with me, Deathwing?' I gave a cautious nod, and he led me to a damp clearing. He started off, clawing me down my flank. I didn't give any expression of pain or weakness as I slashed at his paw. Not showing feelings during battle was my specialty. I leapt back as Rowanstorm reached for my foot to pull. I bit on his flailing tail, hard, and he yowled in pain. He gave me a dirty look and swiped at my face. I jerked back, and time slowed as his claws grazed my eyelashes. I flipped backward, clawing him sharply in the muzzle. He gasped with pain, and I seized the moment and leapt on Rowanstorm, pinning him down. I gagged when the scent of my own blood as he clawed my belly from under me. I bit his paws as they scratched me, and he hissed. Pain caught up with me, and I gasped for breath.
Suddenly, Tigerstar walked in, and I quickly slid off Rowanstorm and dipped my head. Tigerstar nodded to me and gave Rowanstorm a hard look.
"Train harder," the massive tabby tom advised mockingly to Rowanstorm. Rowanstorm flushed deeply. I noticed cats were leaving, so I followed them. When I woke, I saw Skywhisker hovering over me, an angry look on her face. "Get up!" she hissed. "Whi do you think you are, a door mouse?!" I grudgingly got out of bed and hissed at the first kit I saw. I scolded myself later for unleashing ill attitude on a kit. I froze at the sound of voices. I recognized Jetstream, but the other voices were unfamiliar, although they sounded like she-cats.

  65. I quickly ran to my nest and closed my eyes, willing sleep to come. I didn't know why, but I felt I was missing something in the Dark Forest. I praised Starclan when I woke up in the damp, rank, and evil scent of the Place of No Stars. I noticed Wolfstar and Breezepelt having a little battle to the death/duel or something. I hoped it wasn't mating season (lol). I flinched as Wolfstar noticed me and stood up, wacking Breezepelt in the shins. She nodded coldly, indicating me to join the brawl. I narrowed my eyes and leapt on the twosome, knocking an already battered Breezepelt to the ground. I clawed Wolfstar, and she slashed at my scarred pelt. A small look of confusion came over her when I didn't yowl, flinch, or gasp with pain, but she recovered instantly. Huh. Serves her right for never training with me and learning my tricks. Speaking of trick, I fell to the ground and gasped for breath, hoping the oldest trick in the book would work. It did. A menacing look came into the black tom's eyes, and he leapt on me. I grinned spitefully and clawed his exposed belly. He gagged and skidded away. I turned to Wolfstar, who was as coated with blood as myself. I wondered who did that as I bit her leg. I realized it was me, like she had wounded me. She scratched my pelt, and I bit at her neck. Big mistake. Her dog tooth collar raked my muzzle, and I stepped back quickly. I looked at my leader, battered, tired, and still fighting. I searched my mind for signs of pain, and I nearly fell over. I looked back at Wolfstar. Neither of us had any energy left. I dipped my head to her. She gave a small nod and turned away. I rolled my eyes as I walked to Starclan. I hoped I still had ties there, however small. I heard some gasps at my bloody state as I walked into a warm clearing. I found who I was looking for in a heartbeat: Brightspirit, my friend and protector.

  67. I knew Wolfstar must've been furious with me, so I decided to avoid her. In Starclan, Brightspirit helped me lie down and she then tended to my wounds. Brightspirit protected every cat, but mostly helped out big time with cats who have had a hard life. Like myself. I really hated being looked after by anyone, but I always tried to let Brightspirit off. I asked her what the 'prophecy' meant, the one I told Cloverspots. 'Three of your cats hold the answer.'
"You are the one who finds these cats," Brightspirit said wisely. "Hiddenclan needs you, Deathwing. Without you, every cat would be lost to the Dark Forest."
I stared at her. "You can't be serious," I murmured disbelievingly. "Me? I'm nothing. Get Cloverspots, Wolfstar, any cat that is braver than me. I can't even stand up to a false acusion from a medicine cat! That's why I was throw out. Not because I'm a killer, which I am, but because I'm weak!" I started to scream hystariclly, because I'm missing my old clan. Random cats are stopping to stare, but I don't care. I would've, if I wasn't in a state of craziness. "Life!" I screeched. "Why? Why?" I started to moan, and I knew I was alone. The forest of Starclan was gone, and I was alone. Alone in a cold, dark place. It wasn't the Dark Forest; I looked up and the stars gazed sorrowfully down at me. I was alone. I realized that this was my life, and all I had ever known. I started to cry. I had no one. I was no one.

  68. I sat and watched the duel with intrest until both Wolfstar and Deathwing had left. 'She needs to train harder. and longer. tonight, shes staying after.' i thought.

When i saw deathwing leaving i followed her to the border of Starclan and The Place of No Stars. 'well well. whats our little princesss doing there??' i thought, twitching my tail. I then waited until I saw her alone and sprung from my hiding place and dragged her back over the border and held her down by her throat with my claws.

"what you doin princess?!" i hissed, a look of coldness in my eyes.

"n-nothing!! Why would you care?!" Deathwing hissed, struggling to free herself from my grasp.

I merely smiled and gripped her throat harder. i was drawing blood.

"remember the first lesson i gave you Deathwing. You should know this by heart." I hissed in her ear.

She stopped struggling and i loosened my grip just a little. But it clearly made a difference as she took big gasps of air.

"good girl." I sneered. "now. tell me what you were doing in starclan." i spat the name starclan out like it was some kind of disease.

  69. I stared at Rowanstorm with a mix of disgust and fear. "I was visiting Brightspirit," I spilled thoughtlessly. "We talked about a prophecy and she said I was involved. I started to freak out, and then I had a vision. I was in a forest, all alone, and I realized that was my life. I am alone." Rowanstorm sneered at me. "You got that right," he hissed. "Now up! More training. We're going to have a duel together. I narrowed my eyes and threw him off. I gasped for air, and he jumped at me. "Lesson one," he growled. "Never let your guard down. We already started."

"turn my size and strength against me!! otherwise you really are a mouse. they should call you mousewing instead of Deathwing!!" I jeered, clearly enjoying this form of torture.

"its already sunrise!! come on Rowanstorm, you gotta let me leave." Deathwing mews, lunging but moving to the side at the last minute and catching my paw but i managed to get out of her grasp and toss her across the clearing like a feather in the wind.

"no. you're lacking in strategy and force. i dont want all those moons of training from me to go to waste!" i hissed.

"Wake up, kit!" Rowanstorm hissed. "What is wrong with you?! Where is the fighting spit that you used to posses? Where is the spice?! The old Deathwing I knew NEVER GAVE UP. What happened to her?" His words enraged me so much, I snapped. I gave a furious yowl and hurled myself at him, my eyes sparking with fire. Rowanstorm's eyes glinted with malice at the challenge. The fight flew past in a blur, and I backed up, panting. I glanced at the well risen sun, at gave Rowanstorm a forced nod. He was far less hurt than me, and he dipped his head and grinned. "Tommorow, Deathwing," he said in an evil tone.

  73. I gave a small grunt in response. I didn't want to wake up, not ever. I just wanted to sleep until my face dropped off. When I woke, I was alone in the warrior's den. I sighed with relief; I didn't want awkward questions to be asked.

  74. Jetstream poked his head in the warriors den. "finally! come on, your wanted on patrol with me, spottedfire and skywhisker." He mewed, leaving the den. He didnt hear Deathwings low groan as she heaved herself to her paws.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I glanced at Deathwing as she stumbled out of the warrior's den. I rolled my eyes. It was almost sunhigh and Deathwing just got out of her nest. Her fur was ruffled, either from sleep or because she had bad wounds. I narrowed my eyes. Where was she going at night? Probably night hunting, or practing moves out in the forest. I hoped she wasn't out mooning over some tomcat from a different clan. What a waste that would be! If she was doing that, which was highly unlikely. I gave a shrug, knowing that Deathwing's night whereabouts was to remain a mystery. As Skywhisker led the patrol, I noticed that Deathwing gave an effort to be alert, a horrid one at that. I nearly clawed her when she missed a major scent; a dog had come off the moor and was close to our borders. It had left, good riddance, but was still a danger. I told Skywhisker that I would bring the news to Wolfstar, and the rest of the patrol could continue. I would return, of course. I ran to camp and told Wolfstar about the dog.
"Thank you for the warning, Spottedfire," Wolfstar said. "I will alert the clan to be on the lookout for the dog. You may return to patrolling." I dipped my orange head respectfully and raced back to Jetstream, Skywhisker, and Deathwing. We finished up the patrol, Deathwing asleep on her paws. What was going on with her?

  80. I nodded miserably. I was so tired! I usually wasn't after a night of training, but Rowanstorm kept me long and hard. I was glad that Jeystream and Dragonwing were being so sympathetic. Wolfstar was obviously still mad after that last fight we had. After Dragonwing came back with the required cats, we set off into the woods.
I felt my pelt grow unbearably hot when we returned to camp. Everyone had a jawful of prey, and all I had was a thin squirrel and a shrew. I jumped as Mistsoul and Ghostspirit both passed me some prey.
"But that's yours!" I whispered in shock. The siblings exchanged a glance. "We have a ton," Mistsoul said, "Wolfstar will kill if she sees you with just that. Besides, you were too tired to catch anything." I flushed deeply, and meekly accepted their kind gift.

    Deathwing

    ReplyDelete
  81. Dragonwing's ears pricked up. She heard a little better than most cats because of her bad sight. Mistsoul and Ghostspirit were giving Deathwing some of their prey. 'Oh well.' she thought. 'Deathwing doesn't need more trouble from Wolfstar and I won't bring it up either.' She continued like she hadn't heard anything. 'Besides, I cheat. No one, prey included, will notice me when I don't want to be noticed.'

    ReplyDelete
  82. "rosebreeze and icefrost. go do a model fight. the winner gets to choose prey from the fresh kill pile. claws out."
roxebreeze and icefrost circled eachother, and fought. rosebreeze sucked, and icefrost won.
"ok, camofur, you take her place-"
    "wait." icefrost interrupted.
    "yeah?" wolfstar answered coldly.
"why don't YOU fight?" she asked curiously. wolfstar's eyes narrowed.
"do you WANT to fight me?" she said.
    icefrost shrugged. "sure."
    my point of view
    --------------
i walked into the middle. we circled each other for a minute. then i leapt at her. she jumped backwards, and lashed out with her paws. i noticed that she moved in short quick movements; much more defensive than offensive. she stood up on her hind legs and batted. i stood up to match her, and aimed a series of attacks at her shoulder. then i grabbed one of her legs, and pulled it outn from under her. she had surprisingly good balance, and she grabbed at my collar with her jaws. she pulled it hard, choking me. i swept the other leg out from under her, and we were both down. she wrestled her way on top of me first, and camo called,
    "1 2 3 4 5! your out!"
we got up. "REMATCH!!!" i shouted, my voice hoarse from getting choked with my collar.
"ok." she said like it was no big deal.
i marched right back into the center of the clearing.
"this is the one that'll decide who's better." jetstream called. "the final battle."
this time we circled each other for about two minutes, and icefrost struck first.she had a tendancy to sort of jab when she was batting.
i quickly deflected her paws by thrusting them to the side. she did this more, jabbing at me, and i used the same move to deflect. she stood up on hind paws, and i attacked her shoulders and arms MUCH harder than in the first round. on the inside i was seething mad at myself for losing, and i would not allow myself to lose again. i tried to trip her again, but she had braced herself. then icefrost grabbed at me collar, but THAT trick was NEVER going to work on me again.
i yanked my head away from her, and we stood back for a moment, panting slightly. she stood back up on hind legs. then, i rushed forward and grabbed her legs. i slammed her onto the ground on her back, and was NOT going to let icefrost up. she struggled to get to her paws, but i shoved my paws between her shoulder blades and her legs just sort of lowered to the ground. i pinned her. for good.
    camo said, "1 2 3 4 5!"
"jetstream muttered, "i think you guys took that WAY too seriously."
icefrost and i glared at him.
"it's not like we'd REALLY kill each other." we retorted. i shook out my fur in hopes of getting some sweat out of it.
my legs were bloody from were icefrost had jabbed a them, and her shoulders were a mess from where i'd attacked them.
"i'm gonna go to the stream and get the blood off me, or cloverspots will see and KILL me." i remarked disdainfully.
    "yeah, me too." icefrost added.
we could still hear jetstream muttering about us taking the fight too seriously. camofur countered. " i think it was a great fight. really entertaining."
i washed off in the stream, and so did icefrost, and we headed back to camp with the patrol. then we came across the hunting patrol. i think i would go to the dark forest tonight; i was all the suddenly full of energy and wanted to fight. plus my practice had just been refreshed.
(guys, i was basing that fight off of a real one between icefrost and me. when we were at her b-day party, it was like, 1:00 in the morning, and we needed to wake up, so we held wrestling matches. except, when icefrost 'choked me with my collar, i was in a headlock. and basically all the moves were real. it was panful, but fun. unfortunately, jetstream didn't join. :(

"I don't know." Griffinclaw said. "I think it's amazing to watch Wolfstar fight. We can really learn things that way." He looked toward the forest. "Looks like there coming back."

"i've got better stuff to do than train you, mouse, so i'll see you soon." He sneered, disappearing and reappearing in the real world. He trotted leisurely over to the warriors den and saw Jetstream asleep but decided to leave him be. He had no reason to join the Dark Forest. So, rowanstorm looked around and saw noone else so left. he emerged in the clearing and looked around at all the cats going about their business completely unaware. until cloverspots came out. She gave a small gasp when he met her gaze but said nothing.

  87. Rowanstorm was sitting near his handywork and was watching with a cold smile on his face as usual.

"whats wrong, Love?" He asked Cloverspots innocently, laughing like a mad person.

"you are whats wrong, Rowanstorm. You have killed too many cats! why are you here?!" Cloverspots snarls, trying her hardest to stop the flow of blood pouring from Moonspirits vein on one of her legs. She was losing the battle of life and death. And Death had won. In this case, Rowan had won.

"i'm here for more recruits sweet." He said as if that solved everything. He resumed gnawing on the mouse bone he had parked on the side of his face and smiled.

"and to do that you had to kill somebody?!" Cloverspots cried, outraged.

"well of course! it ain no fun if you dont. Didnt you know that? no wait. no, you wouldnt know because your a no good STARCLAN follower!! you wont be followin' 'em no more thats for sure!" He yelled, making himself visible to everyone.

"now wheres my good friend the mouse? ah, here she is. come on Love! Thistleclaw is missin his beuts." Rowanstorm laughed, leisurly walking out of the clearing and to the entrance where Deathwing was frozen in place, unsure of what to do.

"happy hunting." He yelled to everyone, disappearing again as if nothing had ever happened. everyone stared in shock at Moonspirits dead body, surrounded by her own blood.

"what was th- MOONSPIRIT!!!!" Jetstream cried, racing to his mates dead body.

and somewhere, even though it was faint, you could still hear Rowanstorms laugh.

  88. I stood, still frozen in fear, shock, disgust, remorse, and mostly horror. I had brought this upon Hiddenclan. This was my fault. I could barely look anyone in the eye as I ran away from camp. I was soon running in a black, bleak landscape that was quickly turning into a forest. A dark forest. The Dark Forest. I glanced around nervously, hoping no one would see me.
I had hoped too soon. Rowanstorm came out of the shadows, a more evil grin than I had ever seen, dancing on his lips. I gave a stinging hiss. "Why did you kill Moonspirit?!?" I growled. Rowanstorm gave a innocent smile.
"Oh, I didn't kill her. DEATH did. Isn't that right, Deathwing?"
I looked at him blankly, shielding my emotions. Inside, I was scared. There. I said it. Scared. SCARED. I terrified. I nearly cowered, I was so scared. Rowanstorm glared at me. "You can't hide EVERYTHING, Death. And, as I mentioned earlier, Thistleclaw wishes to train with you."
I raised an eyebrow. "Really?" I asked. "Where?" Rowanstorm gestured to the left with his tail. For the first time, I noticed the shadow in the corner. And the evil green eyes staring hungrily at me.

  89. "Now i suggest you get a move on, Love. He doesnt necessarily have good patience." Rowanstorm laughed, going back into the shadows.
"if you need me, mouse, i'll be back in hiddenclan looking for recruits as i was told to do in the first place." Rowanstorm continues, parking the mousebone back in the side of his face. "happy hunting, love!"

Deathwing took a deep breath and turned to face the shadow in the corner. And then, a mottled white and grey cat stepped out with a look of cold malice in his eyes, just like Rowanstorm had. only, his eye looked different then Rowanstorms. Rowanstorms pale green eyes were always reflecing the light and the movement of the shadows in a way that was rather terrifying. The light danced and the shadows would flicker like hungry flames waiting to have your pelt. But Thistleclaws green eyes did nothing like that. That didnt mean they didnt terrify you to death. Thistleclaws eyes never reflected any movement from the light or the shadows. And Deathwing could tell she was really going to miss Rowanstorm.
"well, come on Deathwing. Whats your first move?" Thistleclaw snarled leisurely.

He laughed, turning around smiling like a mad man. Which, in truth he was. He had completely lost it as an apprentice and killed half the clan before he was killed himself, right after he gave himself his warrior name. The warrior who had done that favor was killed by seemingly nothing. When in fact, Rowanstorm had done it.

Which wasnt exactly all that surprising if you put some thought into it.

"well? you going to speak up or do I have to do it for you?" Rowanstorm said, flicking his tail annoyedly.

  92. "shut up." i growled, annoyed by his imagination, which was making him think he was a better fighter than scourge.
    rowanstorm turned around and hissed.
scourge vaporized behind him. rowanstorm didn't notice.
"looks like i've got 2 shecats to maul." he said laughing in a maniacly evilish way.
meanwhile, scourge pounced on him, pinning him down.
"well that was easy." i muttered. rowanstorm tried to disappear into a cloud of smoke like most dead cats could do, but since scourge was also dead, pinning the other down, they had both cancelled that power out of each other.
rowanstorm struggled under scourge, who shouldn't have been able to pin the bigger tom down, but scourge had learned to put an opponent's weight against him, and find their pressure points.
then rowanstorm gave a big heave up. just in time, scourge dug his long claws into rowanstorm's temples, and he passed out.
"wow. i didn't even know it was possible to do that to a dead cat." i said, impressed.
then rowanstorm jumped up; he was dazed from the pressure points, not knocked out.
he leapt at me, and i scratched his face while cloverspots yanked his tail with her jaws. he grabbed her and put her in captive position, claws over her neck.
"make another move and she dies." he snarled.
i glared at him, then realized my advantage. i shrugged, as if had given up. he relaxed a little. then he froze in place, as his eyes got wide. then he staggered over and fell in the moss.
scourge stood behind him, licking his claws 'innocently'. i saw the deep claw marks in rowanstorm's neck where scourge had hit and broken important veins, but not the vital ones. the wounds were still enough to keep him out for awhile.
"yeah! no one messes with the bloodclan king!" i said, shoving my mentor. he shoved me back, harder. i was about to return this when cloverspots said, releived, "enough, you two." then she realized something."hey, is that.. the starclan border? it is! i'm going to see moonspirit." she announced. she bounded across.
"um... i think i'll pass scourge growled with disgust. "those freakin' starry idiots..."
i shrugged. "i'll hang with you for awhile, i guess." i said. in truth, i didn't really like starclan either.

  93. With a massive effort Rowanstorm heaved himself to his paws.
"oww... that really hurt." He said like a kit that had just got a thorn in its nose. Since he was already dead and had just dies again, he popped right back up where he had started. The wounds had stopped bleeding but were still there.
His own little daydream world had shattered just as it had when he was killed the first time. and the second... and the third.. and so on and so forth. the only cats who had been able to kill him in the Dark Forest were Scourge, Tigerstar, Wolfstar, Hawkfrost, Thistleclaw, and whoever else was a major deity in the place of no stars. Like he cared anyways. He rubbed his stiff and extremely painful neck with the back of a paw and looked at it. Great. More blood.
"i'll just have to go find my good friend Brightspots. even though shes from the stupid starclan place....." He said to himself, limping over to the border.
